This zirconium fibre disc for steel grinding is designed for surface, edge, and corner work under normal or aggressive pressure. Built on a vulcanized fiber base with 80% zirconium abrasive, it offers strong cutting performance on stainless and high-strength steels. Available in P24 to P80 grits. Use with a suitable backing plate.
This zirconium fibre disc for steel grinding is designed for high-efficiency material removal on surfaces, edges, and corners. It performs equally well under both normal and aggressive pressure from an angle grinder, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of industrial grinding tasks.
The disc features a vulcanized fiber backing (0.8 mm thick) layered with 80% zirconium abrasive grains, bonded using a heat-resistant synthetic resin. As a result, it delivers excellent cutting performance, especially when used on stainless steel and high-strength alloys.
In addition, the disc requires a backing plate to operate correctly. The backing plate's hardness and flexibility must be selected based on the application—rigid plates for heavy grinding, and more flexible ones for finer work. Proper plate selection also improves operator safety and grinding accuracy.
Available in FEPA grit sizes P24 to P80 (850–200 µm), this fibre disc offers versatility for applications ranging from aggressive material removal to surface conditioning and cleaning.
Key benefits:
Zirconium abrasive (80%) for enhanced cutting power
Vulcanized fiber base (0.8 mm) for strength and stability
Synthetic resin bond for heat resistance and durability
Ideal for both normal and aggressive pressure use
Effective on stainless steel, high-strength and alloyed steels
Requires backing plate for safe and controlled grinding
Available in P24–P80 grits for coarse to fine work
