This zirconium flap disc for surface grinding is built for fast, consistent performance on flat and slightly contoured surfaces. It features a T29 conical backing pad combined with radially arranged lamellae, which significantly increase the contact area. As a result, the disc removes material faster and with more control compared to flat models.
We use high-quality zirconia corundum abrasive belts with 50% zirconium content, bonded to a poly-cotton backing. This material combination delivers excellent cutting power, long disc life, and flexibility during use—even on stainless steel or high-strength alloys.
Each lamella is machine-cut and positioned around the pad’s edge with ±0.5 mm precision. This ensures consistent balance, surface contact, and grinding quality. The core of the disc is reinforced with a 7-layer fiberglass plate, which offers high structural integrity and safety under pressure.
To guarantee flap retention, we use a high-strength epoxy resin adhesive that resists heat and heavy mechanical loads. Furthermore, we optimized the number of flaps based on grit size and diameter to ensure efficient cutting and durability for each application.
Operate this disc at a 15˚–25˚ angle using a 115 mm angle grinder with speed control for best results.
