This zirconium flap disc for edge grinding uses a flat T27 backing and 50% zirconium grain for controlled cutting on hard metals. Built with poly-cotton flaps and epoxy bonding. Grits P40–P120.
This zirconium flap disc for edge grinding is designed for precise material removal on stainless steel and other hard metals. It features a T27 flat backing pad with radially arranged lamellae, which focus the grinding pressure in a straight line. As a result, the disc delivers accurate, clean edge finishes.
The flaps are machine-cut from poly-cotton-backed zirconia abrasive belts with a 50% zirconium grain content. Thanks to this composition, the disc provides a high removal rate and long service life under continuous use.
Each lamella is positioned around the circumference with ±0.5 mm accuracy, ensuring even wear and consistent contact during grinding. In addition, the 7-layer fiberglass backing offers superior mechanical strength, while the epoxy resin adhesive guarantees a secure bond between the flaps and the pad.
Furthermore, the flap density has been optimized after extensive testing, balancing performance and durability across a variety of diameters and grit levels. Therefore, this disc is equally suitable for coarse and fine grinding, depending on your application.
For best results, use at a 5˚–15˚ grinding angle with a 125 mm variable-speed angle grinder.
